Venjakob VEN DRY VERTICAL

The drying method is based on a hot air-circulating air system, divided into different zones. A well thought-through ventilation system ensures uniform and effective ventilation in all parts of the dryer. The flexible system can be used to dry almost all types of lacquers/paints except for hardening lacquers/paints such as UV and EBC lacquers. The high-performance vertical dryer consists of a defined number of belt pallets. Following lacquer application, the parts move into the dryer and stop on a pallet which subsequently rises. The subsequent pallet is then ready for the infeed of the next workpieces. The dryer is manufactured in modular construction and adapted to the requirements of the customer.

Designed to impress with low wear and tear and a long service life of the UV lamps. And if needed to replace them, it’s quick and easy thanks to the modular design. Exceptionally homogeneous curing of the material surface while at the same time drying your workpieces particularly gently. Thanks to a reduction of the IR components in the UV light – referred to as a “cold mirror” – the workpiece surface heats up only slightly. This is particularly beneficial if processing temperature-sensitive materials. The modular design of all Venjakob systems offers maximum flexibility.

SPECIALLY DEVELOPED FOR EDGE HARDENING – THE VENJAKOB SURROUND UV TECHNOLOGY
Venjakob’s specially developed Surround UV technology with its special reflector geometry guarantees thorough hardening of the edges on workpieces. What makes this system so unique is the arrangement of specially aligned reflectors that avoid applying direct UV radiation to the workpieces, but still provide thorough three-dimensional radiation. Despite all this, the workpiece temperature only increases very slightly. The specially developed reflectors make it possible to cure the surfaces and edges of the workpieces in a continuous process. For clear coatings, one lamp is usually sufficient, while colored coatings require only two. This is not just effective in the edge area, but highly energy-efficient in total, as this technology allows to reduce energy consumption by 20% and more compared with conventional methods.

Makor Drying System – MULTILEVEL

MULTILEVEL is an in-line flash-off oven, perfect for finishing line with floor space constraints where oven length must be minimized. It is a single-zone, hot air convection oven with laminar air flow. The oven contains six belted trays that cycle up and down in FIFO (first in – first out) fashion to equalize the time, air velocity, and heat applied to all parts. MULTILEVEL is available in both 23 ft. and 18 ft. tray sizes.

As an example of MULTILEVEL’s space-saving application, the 23 ft. trays provide the equivalent of 138 ft. of laminar oven length in a space of 28-1/2 ft., saving 110 ft. of floor space.

Makor Drying System – FASTDRY

FASTDRY tunnel ovens are designed for in-line drying and curing of water-based of solvent coatings applied manually or by a wide belt spray machine. The nature of this lineal in-line curing system provides extremely efficient focus of convection hot air and infrared energy, allowing the coating to cure in a much shorter time than with other common curing methods.

In FASTDRY’s two-zone oven system, Zone 1 is the “flash off” zone that provides laminar hot air to eliminate the volatile solvents or water that must be evaporated before higher intensity curing energy is applied. Laminar means that warm air enters the tunnel at the far end of the zone and is drawn toward the tunnel entry with an extraction fan. The air temperature and velocity increases as the freshly painted part proceeds through the oven. Temperature and air speed are adjusted to prevent “blistering” of the coating as the volatiles evaporate.

Zone 2 provides the “curing” of the finish. Much higher temperatures and increased air velocity occurs in this zone. Hot air is forced into a plenum and then concentrated with nozzles to greatly increate the air velocity, and is referred to as “Wind Jet”. The Wind Jet zome may also have a number of infrared emitters installed to facilitate curing in the shortest time possible.

FASTDRY is custom-sized to meet the specific curing requirements of the applied coatings, taking into consideration the conveyor speed of the finishing line. Typically, Zone 1 requires more time than Zone 2. Once the volatiles are completely evaporated, very high energy intensity may be applied in Zone 2 without negative effect on the applied coating. A lasting, beautiful finish is the result.
